Through Jamu, Piyungan Health Center Presents Efforts to Prevent Covid while Turning on Empowerment

Piyungan (Gerbang Madu News),- Piyungan Health Center was appointed as one of the health centers developed for traditional and complementary health services, one of which is the development of traditional medicinal plants and the development of herbal medicine as a supporter of traditional medicine services. One of the innovations implemented is to support the distribution of traditional herbal medicine for Covid-19 patients who are undergoing self-isolation.

The head of the Piyungan Health Center, dr. Seta Nurhayati Mularum M.Sc contacted by telephone (25/8) said, "The purpose of this activity is as an effort to promote herbal medicine while at the same time supporting the acceleration of health recovery for Covid-19 patients."

Interestingly, this activity is also carried out as an effort to revive community empowerment, especially health cadres, because the distributed herbs are produced by the fostered village in Srimulyo Village, namely Ngelosari Village. Supported by the Privileges Fund budget, as many as 900 bottles began to be produced on Sunday (22/8), 500 bottles were distributed to residents who were in self-isolation, both patients and residents who were in close contact with patients, and 400 bottles were distributed for promotion to the public.

"This herbal medicine is certainly not an arbitrary ingredient, because it refers to the 5th Revision Guidelines for the Prevention and Control of Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) published by the Indonesian Ministry of Health as of July 13, 2020," Seta added. The concoction whose composition consists of turmeric, galangal, lime, and palm sugar can be taken 2 times a day as much as 1 cups to increase body immunity, especially for Covid-19 patients.
